Patriotic Punch Needle
Whisk Broom #333

I just love 'ol whisk brooms and it's fun to create covers for them. This one is done in red, white and blue wool's as an American flag.

The broom has a blue wool handle attached to the wire ring and the same blue on the back. I've added a velcro closure on the strap that holds the flag to the broom.

There are 13 teensy white wool stars sewn on representing the original 13 colonies. I've also added a small rusty liberty bell, tied on with jute.

Everything is blanket stitched.

Broom measures about 11" long, not counting the handle.

 Adorable angel ornie/shelf sitter measures about 12" wide from wing tip to wing tip; and about 7" high from wing tip to bottom of doll.She's hand painted 'n grubbied a bit, 50 teensy stars on her flag body, painted and artist penciled facial features, black trim around her neck, needle sculpted nose and 3 rusty bells on top of her head. She also has a jute hanger sewn on back if you'd like to hang her.

This little needle punch of Eagle, Flag and 1776 is done on Weaver's Cloth with 3 strand over-dyed Valdani. It is attached to the 5 1/2" x 3" painted 'n sanded wood piece and I've also added cut tacks to each corner. You can hang this piece by the curly black wire hanger, or tuck among your prims on a cupboard or shelf.
