Wood dolls date back as far as the 1500's and they were still around in the 1800's. This beauty stands around 20" high, is made of muslin and she's been through many many processes to achieve the 'wood look'. Esther's waist is so trim and sets off her bustle in the back of her dress.
Esther's facial features are needle sculpted, ears separate and eyes and lips painted, and her eyebrows feathered with artist pencils. I've given her a smattering of freckles also! She wears an aged antique doily for a coif cap. It is attached by a pin so you may change her look as you please. Her hair and braid are paper clay, and little tendrils of hair are painted on the front and back.
Esther's arms and hands are strung together with heavy thread and hang loose like the wood dolls of yore. You may lace her fingers a bit and I'm adding an extra piece of aged lace to loosely hold them together if you like.
You can also wrap her hand lace around her waist!
Esther was made from a Judi Ward pattern and will arrive primly and carefully packaged to you from my smoke free home.
